Task board
How to use the QuoteNode task board for personal and deal-linked sales follow-up work.
Task board
The task board is a Kanban-style view for follow-up work. It keeps small operational actions visible next to the sales pipeline instead of burying them in notes.
The module can be enabled or disabled by an administrator in operational settings.
What tasks are for
Use tasks for work that needs an owner and a status, such as:
- call the customer,
- prepare a revised offer,
- check supplier availability,
- confirm payment status,
- follow up after a public-link visit,
- prepare documents after acceptance,
- verify a customer asset before renewal.
Board columns
The board uses workflow columns for open work, in-progress work, and completed work. Drag or update a task as its state changes.
Keep the board focused on actionable work. Long-term customer history belongs in notes, documents, or asset records.
Deal-linked tasks
A task can be linked to a deal. This is useful when the action belongs to a specific opportunity and should be visible from both the task board and the pipeline context.
Examples:
- follow up after sending an offer,
- prepare a proforma after acceptance,
- confirm delivery dates before issuing a purchase order,
- collect missing customer information before the next stage.
Personal work management
The task board can also be used for personal work queues. Sales users can track their own next actions without creating a full project-management process.
Practical rules:
- assign one clear owner,
- keep task titles short,
- use due dates when timing matters,
- close tasks promptly when done,
- link to a deal when the task belongs to an opportunity.
