Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
These terms govern your use of the QuoteNode software. By downloading, installing, or using QuoteNode, you agree to these terms.
Definitions
- “QuoteNode” — the self-hosted CRM and quoting software, including all components (backend, frontend, documentation, and container images).
- “You” / “Customer” — the individual or organization that deploys and operates a QuoteNode instance.
- “License” — the edition-specific license file that activates features in your QuoteNode instance.
- “Instance” — a single deployment of QuoteNode on your infrastructure.
License Grant
Free Edition
QuoteNode Free Edition is provided free of charge for unlimited lawful commercial use. It includes the core product with a limit of 3 licensed user accounts and the “Powered by QuoteNode” badge on client-facing surfaces.
Pro Edition
Pro is activated by a cryptographically signed license file. The public Pro license grants you the right to operate one QuoteNode instance with the licensed user-account limit and explicit entitlements written in that license file.
Licenses are:
- Subscription-based — monthly or annual billing period as purchased
- Non-transferable — assigned to your organization
- Offline-verified — no runtime communication with Paddle or a license server is required
Paddle will act as Merchant of Record for self-service checkout when public checkout is live. Paddle handles payment processing, taxes, invoices, payment methods, and billing portal operations. QuoteNode software licensing, support, and the signed .lic file remain the responsibility of the QuoteNode vendor.
Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Infrastructure — providing and maintaining the server, network, and Docker environment required to run QuoteNode
- Backups — configuring and verifying backup procedures for your data
- Security — securing your deployment (firewall, TLS configuration, access control, OS updates)
- Compliance — ensuring your use of QuoteNode complies with applicable laws (data protection, tax regulations, industry requirements)
- User management — managing user accounts, roles, and access within your instance
Data Ownership
You own all data in your QuoteNode instance. QuoteNode (the vendor) has no access to your instance, your database, or any data you process. We do not collect telemetry, usage analytics, or any other information from your deployment.
If you stop using QuoteNode, your data remains on your infrastructure. There is no vendor lock-in and no data export required — the database is standard PostgreSQL.
License Expiry
If a paid license expires:
- All features continue to work normally — no lockouts, no read-only mode, no disabled functionality
- A small reminder appears in the application UI encouraging renewal
- The “Powered by QuoteNode” badge appears on client-facing surfaces (public offer pages and PDFs)
- You can remove the badge and the reminder at any time by applying a renewed license
The Free Edition does not expire.
Limitations of Liability
QuoteNode is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of QuoteNode
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your license in the 12 months preceding the claim
- We are not responsible for data loss due to inadequate backup procedures, infrastructure failures, or misconfigurations on your side
Intellectual Property
QuoteNode software, documentation, and branding are proprietary. Your license grants usage rights, not ownership of the software.
You may not:
- Redistribute, sublicense, or resell QuoteNode
- Remove or modify license enforcement mechanisms
- Use QuoteNode trademarks without written permission
Support
- Free Edition — documentation and public support channels
- Pro Edition — license and product support by email during the paid subscription period
- Custom arrangements — handled by direct written agreement when needed
Support scope and response expectations may be published separately. No public service-level guarantee is promised unless it is written in a separate signed agreement.
Modifications
We may update these terms with new software releases. Material changes will be communicated in release notes. Continued use of QuoteNode after changes constitutes acceptance.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Poland. Any disputes shall be resolved by the competent courts in Poland.
